Joining Bloomberg Beta!
I’m delighted to join the incredible team at Bloomberg Beta! I’ll be working alongside Roy Bahat, James Cham, Karin Klein, Minn Kim, Harley Sugarman, Angela Martin, and Maria Sharp, to invest in the future of work.
Bloomberg Beta focuses on investing in founders building technologies that will transform the way we work. Bloomberg Beta’s reputation precedes itself and it’s clear how incredibly deeply the team has thought about how our working lives will be changed by technology and, importantly, how they will be improved.
The entire team has a unique set of backgrounds, from founding and building companies to operating and investing, which means they are extremely valuable partners to founders and know how to go the extra mile. And the more I got to know the team, the more I realised the enormous effort they take to think about the implications of technological change and how technologies engage responsibly with society. This includes Roy’s work leading a year-long effort to imagine what the future of work might look like in decades to come. If you haven’t read the Shift Commission report on Work, Workers, and Technology, you’re missing out.
My new teammates are very inspiring and I’m humbled to join such an esteemed group.
While I’m so excited to start, it was extremely sad to say goodbye to the team at Entrepreneur First. I will forever be proud of building the Berlin office from scratch (the very first European office outside of London) with an extraordinary team. Together, we supported hundreds of world-class technical founders to develop ideas from scratch and build game-changing companies. I’m immensely grateful for the experience, memories, and friendships.
I’m looking forward to the opportunities and challenges ahead to serve founders and learn more about the future of work. It’s going to be a lot of fun.
*I’m particularly excited about tools for distributed teams and all things industry 4.0, so if those are areas of interest, I’d love to hear from you.*
I’ll be based in San Francisco, so if you’d like to grab a coffee, let me know!
